Red Wagon Farm 2008

We are happy to report that this years Red Wagon Farm trip was much cooler and more enjoyable than last years sweltering 85 degrees. We were disappointed to see that there was no pumpkin lift, apparently the crops were slow to mature and there was a slight pumpkin shortage. Every year, the men of the group flex their muscles in an effort to lift as many pumpkins at a time for only $12, Tony holds the family record with 5 large pumpkins. We managed to find plenty of nice looking pumpkins in the per lb patch that fit our needs just fine.

Not only was the pumpkin lift a huge disappointment, but the little food stand wasn't up to par this year either. We always treat ourselves to an ear of corn that has been slow roasted in its husk then peeled and dunked into a vat of butter. Apparently someone was off their game and didn't get the ears cooking early enough and by 2pm we had given up on waiting for them to cook through. It was a sad moment for a few of us die hard fans.
