Cleveland Zoo

Ella and I on a whim drove up to the Zoo today just because we could :) I love having a membership!! Here's some pics of the sights, notice some fun animal behavior - apparently its mating season and all the boys were trying to impress the girls ;)

Ella's love of trains :) She can't wait until May when the train is back in service.

Monkeys had a pool today - they were too busy munching on their lettuce to take a dip for us though....oh well.

These birds were doing a fancy dance with each other - a short video will be at the end.

The Bald Eagle - beautiful!!

Can't tell in the picture of course, but the two Giraffes along the fence were running, it was an awesome sight, they were graceful - yet awkward all at once!

Beautiful Easter Lilly in the greenhouse - no butterflies yet, later in summer we'll have to go back and see what hatches :)

Beautiful flowers!!

Ella talked to the goldfish for a while.

"Mommy, can we get some of those quarters out of the fishy pool so we can smash the penny in that crank thingie?"

More flowers - YAY Spring!!

One of the Swans - she kept hissing at the Canadian Geese.

Speaking of the loud little things - here's a Canadian Goose with her little nest and eggs.

This was the coolest part - the Vulture had his wings fully extended and was bobbing up and down slowly and turning in circles as the female watched perched above on a branch.


You can barely see the white when the wings are folded inward.

Ella and Woofie - loving the Zoo!!

Here's the cranes - they were apparently being louder and more prominent in their dance right before we walked up - we could hear them from the Wolf house, couldn't figure out what was making the noise!

Here's the Dingo's - or "Singing Dogs" I think the sign said. They kept chasing each other around the trees barking at each other....it was quite the show, of course my clip is short because as you might hear in the background, Ella is overwhelmed by the cute Bunnies in the cage across the walkway.
